Importance of Representation in Education

Jeremiah Grace, interim CEO of BLACC, presented BLACC's mission to champion charter schools led by people of color, emphasizing the positive impact of representation on student outcomes and detailing BLACC's advocacy work, including the READ Act focused on teacher recruitment and retention. 

 

Dallan Wortham and Jeremiah Grace also discussed the importance of community engagement and effective policy advocacy, highlighting the need for respectful yet firm advocacy.  BLACC is actively pursuing the READ Act and various community engagement initiatives, and seeks financial support to continue its work.
